Thursday, July 13, 2006 World Cup coordinator shoots selfBERLIN (AP) The Berlin city government's World Cup coordinator shot himself in the head in an apparent suicide attempt just hours after Sunday's final. Police spokeswoman Claudia Schulz on Tuesday confirmed Berlin newspaper reports that Juergen Kiessling, 65, had shot himself. She said there was no indication anyone else was involved, but had no information on a possible motive. The Bild daily reported that Kiessling is still fighting for his life in a Berlin hospital. |
