Thursday, May 13, 2004 Japan boxers suffer Olympic knockoutKARACHI (Kyodo) Japan will not be competing in the boxing event at the Athens Olympics after Koji Sato, Terukado Shoyama, Kaoru Murahashi and Toshiyuki Igarashi all suffered defeats in the semifinal round of Asian zone Olympic qualifiers in Pakistan on Tuesday. The defeats mean Japan will not have any representatives in the Olympic boxing competition for the first time since the 1928 Olympics in Amsterdam. |
