Monday, Nov. 30, 2009 Tebow shines in home finale for No. 1 GatorsGAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) Quarterback Tim Tebow threw for three touchdowns and ran for two as top-ranked Florida thrashed Florida State 37-10 for its sixth consecutive victory in the heated college football rivalry on Saturday.
The Gators stayed unbeaten heading into next week's Southeastern Conference showdown against No. 2 Alabama, extended the nation's longest winning streak to 22 games, and improved to 12-0 this season for just the second time ever. Tebow completed 17 of 21 passes for 221 yards. He also ran 15 times for 90 yards against a defense that has been among the worst of any Florida State team under longtime coach Bobby Bowden. Okla. 27, No. 11 Okla St. 0: In Norman, Okla., DeMarco Murray ran for two touchdowns, Ryan Broyles returned a punt 88 yards for a score and Oklahoma knocked Oklahoma State out of contention for its first appearance in the Bowl Championship Series.
