Texans' missed FG lets Colts off hook

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) The Colts have no problems with close games — as long as they keep winning them.

Peyton Manning delivered another milestone performance, Joseph Addai produced a second straight winning score, and the Colts found another unconventional way to win when Houston's Kris Brown missed a 42-yard field goal as time expired, keeping Indy's winning streak intact 20-17.

"I think that's the mark of a great football team," center Jeff Saturday said, referring to the close calls. "We've won eight games so far, and we're ahead in our division, which is really our main focus and goal."

The implications of Sunday's victory are monumental.

Indy is the fourth team in league history with 17 straight regular-season wins. New England did it twice — winning a record 21 straight from 2006-08 and 18 in a row from 2003-04. Chicago won 17 straight from 1933-34.

Bucs 38, Packers 28: In Tampa, Fla., Rookie Josh Freeman passed for 205 yards and three touchdowns.

Saints 30, Panthers 20: In New Orleans, the Saints moved to 8-0 for the first time in club history when Drew Brees overcame two early turnovers to pass for 330 yards and a touchdown.

Chargers 21, Giants 20: In East Rutherford, N.J., Philip Rivers capped an 80-yard drive with an 18-yard pass to Vincent Jackson with 21 seconds to play.

Titans 34, 49ers 27: In San Francisco, six plays after his 81-yard touchdown run was overturned, Chris Johnson took a pitch from Vince Young and ran 2 yards for a go-ahead score.

Patriots 27, Dolphins 17: In Foxborough, Mass., Randy Moss caught six passes for 147 yards, while Tom Brady went 25-of-37 for 332 yards to lead New England.

Bengals 17, Ravens 7: In Cincinnati, with Cedric Benson topping 100 yards again, the Bengals got ahead early and ground one out.

Cardinals 41, Bears 21: In Chicago, one week after throwing five interceptions, Kurt Warner tied a career high by throwing five touchdown passes.

Falcons 31, Redskins 17: In Atlanta, Michael Turner ran for a season-high 166 yards, breaking away from former Falcons CB DeAngelo Hall on a 58-yard touchdown.

Jaguars 24, Chiefs 21: In Jacksonville, Fla., David Garrard threw for 264 yards, including a 61-yard touchdown to Mike Sims-Walker.

Seahawks 32, Lions 20: In Seattle, Matt Hasselbeck rallied the Seahawks from a 17-0 deficit with 39 completions.
