Carp set to acquire Aussie Huber

HIROSHIMA (Kyodo) The Hiroshima Carp have reached an agreement to sign Australian first baseman Justin Huber, baseball sources said Sunday.

Huber played in the World Baseball Classic in March and spent most of the 2009 season with the Minnesota Twins' Triple-A affiliate.

The Twins have agreed to trade the 27-year-old for cash considerations. The details of his contract will be worked out later.

Huber has appeared in 72 major league games between 2005 and 2009, hitting .224 with two homers and 15 RBIs. He went 1-for-2 in one game for the Twins this past season.
