Noevir exec admits e-mail harassment

KOBE (Kyodo) The vice president of cosmetics maker Noevir Co. has been arrested for allegedly sending harassing e-mails to the husband of a woman he used to date.

Hisashi Okura, 43, also president of subsidiary Tokiwa Pharmaceutical Co., was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of violating the antistalking law and blackmail. He has owned up to the harassment, police said.

Okura is suspected of sending around 100 e-mails in October and November to the man, threatening in some of them to release online photographs of Okura and the woman taken while they were dating. Other e-mails indicated Okura may have been monitoring the woman's movements.
