Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009 Boy likely died of hypothermiaKyodo News
An 11-year-old boy was found dead near a stream on Mount Karakuni on the border of Kagoshima and Miyazaki prefectures, two days after he became separated from his family while hiking, police said. An autopsy on Masaki Miyata, who disappeared Saturday and was found Monday, indicated he died of hypothermia. A fractured facial bone and scratches on his arms and back indicated he may have suffered a fall. Police suspect Miyata slipped off the slope and managed to move to where his body was found and died. He apparently died early Sunday. |
