Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008 Another man slain in PhilippinesMANILA (Kyodo) A Japanese man died of a single gunshot wound to the head in the central Philippines, police said Monday. Police said the victim, who was identified as Yasuaki Matsuura, 50, was shot Sunday night, allegedly by the brother of his Filipino partner, in Compostela, a town northeast of Cebu City, after heated arguments over cash. Police have detained the alleged gunman and the victim's driver while the probe is under way. They also recovered a .45 caliber gun allegedly used by the suspect. Matsuura, whose partner is reportedly in Japan, is the third Japanese man to be slain in the Philippines in less than two weeks. |
