Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007 Osaka U. adds neighbor, set to eclipse Tokyo counterpartOSAKA (Kyodo) Osaka University and Osaka University of Foreign Studies were integrated Monday under the name of Osaka University. The integrated entity will accept up to 3,240 freshmen next spring, the biggest number for a national university and exceeding that of the University of Tokyo. All 25 languages taught at Osaka University of Foreign Studies will be offered continuously. Osaka University's campus in the city of Suita and Osaka University of Foreign Studies' campus in neighboring Minoo will continue to be used. |
