Aiming for annual sales of 2 billion yen, the major noodle maker will sell one packet with Cup Noodle contents for 122 yen each, 33 yen less than existing Cup Noodle products that come in a disposable plastic cup, the company said.

Nissin will also launch a 570 yen box set with two servings of noodles and a reusable cup.

The cup is washable. It will carry the same design as the existing disposable container. But because it has a double plastic sleeve, users can make their own cup designs by inserting a photo or patterned paper between the sleeves, the company said.

The noodles will be sold in 10 prefectures in the Kanto region centering on Tokyo.
